“I wanted to launch wig rental for so many reasons. When you think about wigs through the years — across generations, cultures, and styles — they’ve always been about fun and transformation. A way to change your look in an instant, to play with identity, to express something new. But over time, wigs somehow fell into this narrow space of being only for people who needed them — through hair loss, alopecia, treatment, or thinning. That’s an incredibly important part of the story, but it’s not the whole story.

 

There’s also a world of people who want to wear wigs. Who choose to. Who love the freedom of trying something new without the commitment. I’ve seen it firsthand at the Amber Jean space — the joy that comes when someone puts on a wig that’s a different colour, a different length, or a totally new style. That little spark of “oh my god, this is me” — it never gets old. It’s such a powerful reminder that when you change your hair, you can change how you feel, and even who you believe yourself to be.

 

That’s what this rental programme is all about: bringing that experience to more people.
